Outdoor Service Opportunities August 23-25
An outdoor work crew will be needed during the upcoming 3-Day, from Friday to Sunday, Aug 23 - 25, to move wood stored in the basement of the large dairy barn to another location. This will clear the way for the next steps in taking down the large dairy barn during the Aug 25 - Sept 3 work period. (Aug 25 is our Trust meeting and Sept 2 is Labor Day.) If we get enough volunteers, other significant work on the grounds may be undertaken in installing gates on the new driveway sections, moving wood and metal from the south pasture hay shed, etc. Volunteers are also needed to clear the jungle of weeds growing behind the Dhamma Hall and other places due to the abundance of rain. A volunteer with chainsaw skills would be very helpful!. We may also be ready to add new gravel to the women's walking path.

All old students are welcome. Come for a day or for the entire work period. As always, there will be regular group sittings and abundant vegetarian meals.

Short courses for old students:

3-Day August 30 - September 2
This course begins on the evening of Friday, v Aug. 30 and ends at 5pm, Monday September 2, taking advantage of the Memorial Day holiday.

2-Day old student course December 6 - 8
Please join us for this 2-day old student course. This is a good way to support your practice, especially if you're having trouble getting to a full10-day course. Designed with students who work M-F in mind, this course starts on Friday night, and ends Sunday at about 5 pm.

Dhamma Visuddhi Service Opportunities

Fall Service Period: October 9-13
We plan to work on many projects of all stripes and skill levels; carpentry, painting, cooking, general cleaning, etc., as well as preparing the center for the fall/winter.If you can come at some time during this period, please apply on line:

This is a wonderful time to help with projects around the center, prepare for the upcoming courses, be part of a group of Dhamma workers, and experience the benefits of spending time in a Dhamma environment.

Dhamma Service Cooking Day
Please join us on Sunday, November 10 to make lasagna and Three Sisters casserole for the upcoming courses.

Cooking Day Schedule
Group Sitting 9:00 am - 10:00 am
Cooking 10:00 - 4:00pm (Lunch provided.)

This is a great opportunity to spend some time in Dhamma Service with other local meditators and becoming more familiar with the centerkitchen. You don't need any kitchen experience. We will have everything you need ready to go. Sign up here.

Fall courses
Serving a course (either full or part-time) is a great way to strengthen your practice. All of our fall and winter courses are in need of servers.Please apply online.

Long-Term Servers
The long-term server program gives a Vipassana student the opportunity to strengthen his or her meditation practice by applying it in daily life. It is for those who have a strong volition to serve and wish to develop more in Dhamma by staying at the center for between 2-12 months sitting and serving courses.
